Between 2007 and September 2019, Mussel Inn customers have raised an outstanding £17,015 for The Fishermen’s Mission.

Being a seafood based restaurant, Mussel Inn depend on the bravery of fishermen to provide us with the sea’s rich harvest including fish and shellfish. 

The Fishermen’s Mission

The Fishermen’s Mission is a charitable body whose only source of funding is through voluntary donations. The charity has worked for over 130 years supporting fishermen and their families including emergency, practical, financial and emotional support. Whether they are retired or not, Fishermen’s Mission looks after their own. 

The dangers of fishing cannot be underestimated, therefore, Fishermen’s Mission is dedicated to understanding and supporting the needs of fishing families. This includes emotional and financial support for those who have lost a loved one during their fishing service. 

The financial support the charity offers to families is crucial as the fishing industry can be unpredictable, sometimes leaving fishermen in poverty and despair.

Fishermen’s Mission is pivotal in supporting the individuals that risk their lives on the sea and Mussel Inn will continue to support them to enable them to help others in their time of need.

Mussel Inn leaves envelopes on their restaurant tables and ask that customers leave a donation no matter how big or small.
