Byres Road - a personal journey

"I was born and brought up in the west end of Glasgow and Byres Road is what makes this area so special. I wanted to rediscover the area having been away for 20 years and I wanted to capture the physical elements that make up Byres Road - the sandstone, wrought-iron and brick and I wanted to do this in such a way that it captured those elements in a timeless fashion. The process of spending many weeks and months exploring the alleys and back-streets off Byres Road was a fruitful and enlightening process in itself and I feel that I have now renewed my acquaintance with the area in a very intimate and satisfying way."
