Exhibiting this month is Scottish artist Charles Jamieson. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Charles is known for paintings of his travels which take him across the world. His usual haunts are the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the United States.
This exhibition includes some sketch book work as well as paintings and will give an insight into the workings of this much exhibited painter.
Being Past President of the Paisley Art Institute and Judging Chair of The Aspect Prize, one of Scotland’s foremost art prizes, means that Charles is always busy and involved in the wider world of the visual arts. His own work is in collections in many countries as well as here at home. Those who purchase his work include The Kuwaiti Royal Family, John Le Carré, Harry Enfield, The Royal Bank of Scotland and The Prudential.
A lover of sea food, he jumped at the chance of having an exhibition here in The Gallery@Mussel Inn. No doubt he will often visit with friends and clients and settle down to lunch or dinner with great anticipation. The restaurant offers top quality cuisine in a casual and friendly setting.
Sourcing its produce from the Mull of Kintyre to the Shetlands, the favourites includes not only the best pick of Mussels – steamed in their own juices, or served with one of the specially created sauces – in its signature kilo pot, but also the freshest of King and Queen Scallops or Oysters. On the menu are also a range of creative starters, the Catch of the Day fish and home made desserts, all accompanied by a carefully selected – part exclusive – wine list.
Do not pass up this fantastic opportunity to experience the joys – visual and culinary – of the very best of Scotland in one centrally located venue, minutes from both Glasgow Queen Street and Central train stations.
